It looks like Stephen Colbert has won the NASA module naming contest with his suggested name, Colbert. The question is, will NASA actually name the module accordingly? Cast your votes!

For those of you who are behind on your Colbert, check out him launching the Colbert naming campaign on his nightly comedy series The Colbert Report.

as if call a module 'serenity'...grade A boring. that is a hard name to live up to. If the airconditioning (or the toilet) fails in that module, then life on board the 'serenity' will be anything but. Still, I wonder who in the public relations department at NASA thought up the fantastic, but oh-so-flawed idea to have a write-in naming contest for the module...kudos to Stephen for getting his viewers on board

Now the new ISS module 'colbert'...that could bring a large amount of amusement and publicity to the NASA program... :D

I think this MSNBC headline says it all.

NASA might name toilet for Stephen Colbert

It seems like NASA is acknowledging that this is a golden opportunity for publicity, which is something they need badly. Is the future of space exploration in the hands of a late-night TV comedian?

Seeing as how NASA has a history of taking suggested names... I think they'll do it. And, hey, they'll get some publicity out of it. So, why not?

it made the newspapers here today, read it on the train. Opinion is NASA is going to chicken out and just call the thing serenity anyway...

If NASA does chicken out, it will be their loss.
